Data product description

This dataset captures air quality readings from over 25 European cities, detailing the concentration of particulate matter in the atmosphere.

Our fleet of vehicles is equipped with over 1550 mobile sensors, while we also have over 220 dedicated fixed stations. Together they have produced over 2 billion readings from mobile sensors and over 1.2 billion from the fixed stations since their deployment.

The data points include the exact time (in UTC) at which the readings were taken, the geographical coordinates (latitude and longitude) of the sensor and the concentrations of particulate matter.

The primary metrics of interest are the concentrations of particulate matter of sizes 1.0, 2.5, and 10.0 micrometers, commonly denoted as PM1.0, PM2.5, and PM10.0 respectively.

These metrics are crucial indicators of air pollution and can provide insights into the air quality conditions of the region during a specified period.. Our mission is to enlighten stakeholders about air quality and inspire impactful action.

The first city to have this deployed was Lisbon in May 2019. Since then, the cities covered include: Lisbon, Paris, Madrid, Rotterdam, London, Birmingham, Cardiff, Hamburg, Glasgow, Leeds, Manchester, Dublin, Prague, Bologna, Warsaw, Budapest, Bratislava, Zurich, Basel, Bern, Geneva, Tallinn, Riga, Vilnius, Gent, Antwerp, Brussels, and Porto. For a comprehensive overview of our coverage, please refer to the document in the "Sample Files & Documentation" section.

Feel free to reach out for air quality data on any city of your choice !
