Data product description

Mobito driving events data provide anonymised harsh driving behaviour events including harsh braking, harsh acceleration / deceleration, and harsh cornering.  Data is captured by individual onboard vehicle devices and sourced by our vetted partners: car manufacturers and fleet service providers. The data can be used in order to perform road safety and maintenance analytics and to create driver profiles.

Use cases

  • Road safety: Road operators and municipalities identifying high risk road segments based on driving behaviour and near misses in order to prioritise and plan maintenance
  • Road infrastructure: Road operators and municipalities planning infrastructure/ maintenance and measuring their effect on traffic
  • Driving behaviour analysis: Automotive engineers creating driver personas based on driving behaviour in order to design the new generation vehicles

Data Anonymization Method:

The data are fully anonymized using various methods. The main ones are the following:

a. Unique_id rotation, ranging from 5 minutes up to maximum 24 hours depending on the source

b. Removing starting and ending part of the trips
